Grand Opening: The Bungalow Kitchen by Michael Mina

Sitting pretty on the corner of the iconic Pacific Coast Highway and 2nd Street in the Belmont Shore neighborhood of Long Beach, you will find the newly opened Bungalow Kitchen. Helmed by award-winning Chef Michael Mina and hospitality veteran Brent Bolthouse, the eclectic atmosphere is the perfect backdrop for the pair’s locally inspired California Cuisine menu. Influenced by the Long Beach community’s rich architectural history and punk-rock edge, Bolthouse and Mina put a raw and original spin on the traditional California bungalow.

The Bungalow Kitchen Belmont Shore by Michael Mina is a one-of-a-kind social dining experience for patrons in Long Beach, surrounding Los Angeles and Orange County area. Guests have the opportunity to indulge in a luxurious multifaceted venue where one can spend an entire evening. From pre-dinner drinks at one of the four bars to dinner on the expansive patio and finally ending the evening with a night cap by the billiard table. The Bungalow Kitchen Belmont Shore strives to be a place where guests can celebrate life.

“Michael Mina and I have been overjoyed to expand our joint partnership in Southern California with the opening of The Bungalow Kitchen Belmont Shore by Michael Mina, a brand-new restaurant concept. The new social dining experience and community clubhouse officially opened its doors on March 4th, and we recently welcomed guests for limited indoor dining and brunch.”

The future certainly looks tempting, but after several delays in opening the first location of Bungalow Kitchen, the pair is staying cautiously optimistic about the months and year to come.

“As hopeful as we are and can be, we do not know what may lie ahead or if there may or may not be a third wave. Thus, we need to continue to be flexible and nimble during these difficult times. As leaders, we will continue to cheer and support our staff which has truly become like family. We are incredibly grateful for our team, some of which are pulling double shifts, and their hard work has not gone unnoticed. We are continuously looking to hire more team members. Last but definitely not least, we are excited to open the next Bungalow Kitchen by Michael Mina in Tiburonover the Summer.”

Within the next year, the team hopes to have not just one, but two thriving Bungalow Kitchen locations with guests enjoying every corner of their multifaceted restaurants. They even hinted at new developments coming down the pipeline.

“We hope to have more iconic locations similar to the first four in California (The Bungalow Santa Monica, The Bungalow Huntington Beach, The Bungalow Kitchen Belmont Shore, The Bungalow Kitchen Tiburon) as well as expanding in other parts of the country.”
